Does the fennel this week have you stumped? We have a recipe for that!
We’re seeing lots of lovely cool weather veggies this week! Broccoli, sweet potatoes, and greens, and we’re lucky enough to get grapefruit from our friends in Florida once again. Because of the downright spooky weather lately, Margie had quite the time pulling this basket together – the lineup changed quite a bit as she worked with our farmers to get us our food.
Having trouble coming up with recipes for this week’s basket? Don’t despair! These three recipes use the whole basket right up, and they’re sure to please. Read the rest of this entry »

Meet Brian, who’s going to be helping out as our farm manager this month!

Margie is taking evening classes this month, as she gets her home ready for a foster child who’s coming to live with her! The fabulous Brian is stepping in to help make sure we still get our lovely baskets of fresh veggies. He rode out to Serenbe and to Steve Miller’s farm today, and starting next week he’ll be picking up our veggies for us while Margie’s in class. As you can see in the photo above, Brian loves those veggies!

Sunchokes are another one that stump me after I’ve gotten them for a few weeks in a row. Never fear! I’ve tracked down some recipes to help out with the beets and sunchokes in your basket that also use some of the other veggies we’re getting this week.

I believe strongly that you get back from the universe what you put out there, and this week at Vegetable Husband was a prime example of great karma!

We got such gorgeous veggies this week, including a beautiful batch of spring onions. We’re jumping for joy!

This week’s basket is a super fun mix of late summer and early fall veggies! We’ve got cucumbers and a rainbow of peppers next to collards, lettuce, and apples. Good times! The turnips are looking lovely this week. Check out this little fella! He can’t wait to hop into a basket:
